The Heart Sutra (Sanskrit: Prajñāpāramitāhṛdaya) is a famous sūtra in Mahāyāna Buddhism. Its Sanskrit title, Prajñāpāramitāhṛdaya, literally means "The Heart of the Perfection of Understanding." The Heart Sūtra is often cited as the best-known and most popular Buddhist scripture of all.
